The reportage of issues impacting Assyrians leads to real-world consequences for them. Join us for a discussion on the media representation of Assyrians, as well as the barriers and obstacles encountered by Assyrians in online spaces.

Speakers:

Ata Younan @milknwhisky

Ata Younan is a multimedia storyteller with a B.A. in Communication, Media and Theatre. As a first generation American, she is interested in telling stories that highlight how origin and culture impact identity. 

Max J. Joseph @deadmanmax

Max J. Joseph is a London-based artist and writer, who has written extensively on Assyrian issues. Joseph holds a Master's in International Public Policy from University College London.

Ramsen Shamon @ramsen_

Ramsen Shamon is a POLITICO Pro Senior States Producer. Shamon, a Chicago native, was the arts and culture reporter for Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism as a graduate student.
